CA's work hit

KATHMANDU, May 22: The growing difference among political parties has started to take its toll on the works of the Constituent Assembly committees. Consequently, only one committee met the Friday deadline to submit concept and draft to Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang.

“In recent days, the CA committees are not meeting due to the political deadlock. CA members are also reluctant to attend the meeting,” said a CA source. All the thematic committees were supposed to submit concept papers and drafts to Nembang by Friday as per the amended schedule.

This situation has worried Nembang. He called on former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Friday evening to urge the latter to take initiatives to improve relation of political parties. Nembang said he is also going to meet leaders of other political parties to discuss the problem in the work of the committees.
