They seem wooing the people for votes by joining hands whereas respective party cadres and supporters are following their leaders. Election fever has gripped this constituency which is expected to see a tough competition among the three major political parties. [break]
However, presence of other political parties like the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic), CPN-ML and Sanghiya Samajbadi and independent candidates can not be ignored.
Candidate Renu Dahal (UCPN Maoist), daughter of party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prakashman Singh (Nepali Congress) and Bidya Neupane ( CPN-UML) are expected to have a tough fighting on November 19.
NC General Secretary Singh had won the first CA election from this constituency, the sole constituency across the country equipped with e-voting machine. But, this time, ballot paper is to be used for voting following a greater number of political parties and candidates than the previous election.
Bharat Jangam, a candidate from RPP- Nepal, and Nirmal Thapa from MJF ( Democratic) were seen busy in wooing the voters as well.
The Kathmandu Constituency No. 1 covers four wards (No. 10, 11, 32 and 34) of Kathmandu Metropolitan city. There were 51,000 voters in the previous election and this year this number is slightly down. A total of 47 candidates including independent are contending in the election in the constituency.
