A meeting of the council of ministers held this afternoon decided to forward the ordinance to president  for the endorsement through provision of removing the constitutional difficulties in line with the agreement that the High Level Political Committee(HLPC) struck with Ashok Rai-led Federal Sociliast Front (FSP) and Upendra Yadav –led Federal Democratic Front (FDP).

Forging the separate agreements with the fronts, the HLPC had  inked a deal to increase the size of upcoming CA  from 491 to 601-member.

Earlier, the main political parties had slashed the size of  the CA to 491-member by statute amendment following the widespread criticism from various quarters of the public regarding the size of CA.  The HLPC, however, was forced to reverse its earlier decision following threats of poll boycott by the various parties including FSP and FDP.
