Cabinet meeting postponed as parties discuss impeachment motion

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: The registering of an impeachment motion at the parliament against Chief Commissioner at the Commission for the Investigation of  Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki has hampered the meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The meeting of the Cabinet slated for 11 on Thursday morning was deferred till 4 pm. But, the meeting was postponed yet again.

According to sources, the Cabinet meeting failed to happen as ruling parties are busy in meetings to forge an official view on the impeachment motion. The time and date for the meeting is yet to fixed, said sources.

“The meeting was postponed as ruling parties are in discussions regarding the impeachment order filed at the parliament. The time and date for the sitting are yet to be fixed,” said a source.
