BUTWAL. Feb 10: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Leela Giri has made final preparations to expand the provincial cabinet. Preparations are being made to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers by Sunday if not today.
The government is being criticized for not expanding the cabinet even in a month of the appointment of the Chief Minister.

The expansion of the cabinet was delayed as the parties could not agree on a power-sharing deal.
Giri, who was appointed the chief minister on January 12 with the support of 58 members from seven out of the 10 parties represented in the provincial assembly - 56 from the parties and two independent members, received the vote of confidence from 59 members on January 19
Giri made the UML's Chetnarayan Acharya and Maoist Center's Krishna KC as ministers without portfolio along with him. They are yet to be assigned the responsibility of any ministry.
