According to Shrestha, the prime minister will act upon the suggestions from public and direct concerned ministries to address people´s problems.
The government conceived the idea of control room in the third week of August after Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai found his office closed when he reached there before the regular office hour in the early days of his assuming the post of the top executive.
In yet another decision, the cabinet formed a three-member commission headed by former Supreme Court Justice Rajendra Kumar Bhandari to investigate the murder of General Secretary of Islami Sangh Nepal (ISN) Faizan Ahmed. Deputy Attorney General Prem Raj Karki and Additional Inspector General Naresh Gurung are other members of the commission.
Two weeks ago, the government had decided to form a probe panel under the co-ordination of a joint attorney general to investigate into the murder of Ahmed. The cabinet meeting dissolved the panel. ISN had been demanding formation of a high-level commission to investigate Ahmed´s killing.
According to Shrestha, the government has also decided to provide Rs one million to the family of the deceased. Ahmed was shot dead on September 26, near the Tri-Chandra Campus, Kathmandu, by two unidentified gunmen.
Similarly, the cabinet meeting appointed Ram Kishor Singha as Executive Chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation following resignation of Hari Govinda Luintel.
Also, the government has appointed Amar Nath Singh as Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Corporation.
