KATHMANDU, July 31: The meeting of the Council of Ministers held Monday evening decided to table in parliament the bill on pension fund and the bill prepared for amendment to some Nepal Act related to the civil code. 

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said the decision was made to table the bills in the federal parliament. 

Likewise, the Cabinet meeting has approved the organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and Ministry of Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation. The two ministries were formed some days ago. 

For the immediate time being, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Chakrapani Khanal has been given the responsibility of both the ministries. 
Talks team for meeting on review of commerce treaty 

Similarly, the meeting has formed a eight-member talks team under the leadership of joint secretary Rabi Shankar Sainju of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies for the first meeting on review of commerce treaty signed between Nepal and India in 2009. 

Government Spokesperson Baskota said the team has been authorized to sign the agreed issues by keeping the national interests at the centre. 

Transfers of secretaries 

Similarly, acting chief secretary of Gandaki Province, Narayan Prasad Bidari, has been promoted to the special class, while secretary at Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), Buddhi Bahadur Khadka, has been transferred to the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens. Chief Secretary of Province 1, Suresh Pradhan, has been transferred to the Office of the Auditor General (OAG). 

OAG Secretary Ram Kumar Acharya has been transferred to the OPMCM. 
17 bills sent to OPMCM committees 

Moreover, the Cabinet meeting has sent various 17 bills to the concerned committees of the OPMCM for the discussion. 

The bills are related to consumers' protection, protection of victims from crime, citizenship act, immigration, torture, environmental conservation, social security, ethnic discrimination and untouchability, citizens' right to shelter, food sovereignty, safe motherhood and reproduction, and others. 

Minister Baskota informed that these bills were sent to the various committees of the OPMCM for discussion, because the presentation of these bills is much awaited at federal parliament. RSS
