Cabinet appoints Basnet as IGP of APF and Bhatta as NID Chief

KATHMANDU, May 4: Cabinet meeting on Monday appointed Sanat Kumar Basnet as Inspector General of the Armed Police Force and Ashok Dev Bhatta as the chief of National Investigation Department. MInister for Information and Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara informed the media about the cabinet decision.

The meeting also accepted the resignation tendered by UML and Sadbhavana Party ministers. The meeting attended by only the Maoist members also termed the president Dr Ram Baran Yadav´s letter to army headquarters as "unconstitutional" and decided to request the president to withdraw it.
