KATHMANDU, Dec 20: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has proposed to change the design of Nijgadh Interchange of Expressway. According to the Nepal Army (NA), this has facilitated the construction of the interchange.


The State Affairs Committee of the Parliament summoned Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma and project officials on Wednesday to discuss the Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track Project.

Providing an update on the project's progress and outlining future challenges, Planning and Design Division Chief, Colonel Bharat Lal Shrestha said that the cost would increase if the interchange adheres to CAAN's proposed design.


He said that the government should take an immediate decision as land acquisition and tree felling will also increase and the duration of the project will be affected.
