However, police have already freed Thapa. Prasai said that like the youth organizations of other political parties, they have formed a ‘black soot’ squad as their youth organization, but the government has violated the constitutional rights of individuals by arresting them, even though the squad has not smeared black soot to anyone.
He clarified that they are raising their voices and protesting against the high interest of banks, financial institutions, microfinance, co-operatives etc. He also said that because of banks and microfinance, many Nepalis have become slum-dwellers and called for protests against banks and microfinance institutions in every village.
He made it clear that they were agitated to protect the rights of the proletariat. He said he had not asked anyone not to pay the loan and asked those who could pay the high interest rates to pay back the loan. He also said that the government should waive off loans for those who cannot pay back. He also said that the state should take charge of microfinance institutions and cooperatives.
Prasai said that their movement against the banks and microfinance institutions will be continued. He also said that various protest programs will be held continuously across the country.
