BUSINESS BRIEFS: Surya Life appoints share registrar

KATHMANDU, July 16: Surya Life Insurance Company has appointed NMB Bank Limited as its share registrar.



Issuing a press statement, the company said NMB Bank will be responsible splitting and sharing its shares. The two companies signed an agreement to this effect on Friday, according to the statement. [break]





Rajdhani Gas starts operations



KATHMANDU, July 16: Rajdhani Gas Industries, a new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bottler, has commenced operations as on Friday.



Established with an investment of Rs 100 million, the company based in Mukundapur of Nawalparasi district has the capacity to refill 1.2 million cylinders (of 14.2 kgs capacity) per annum. "However, we have targeted to refill only 600,000 cylinders this year," said Kush Prasad Malli, chairman of the company.



The company has said it will market its products, which is branded as Rajdhani Gas, in the Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Butwal, Dhading and Tanahun. "We have already appointed 150 dealers in the Kathmandu Valley for retailing Rajdhani Gas," said Malli, adding that he plans to raise this number to 400 within two months.



He expressed commitment to supply correct quantity of gas and also declared of covering its customers with accident insurance policy for compensating them in case of accidents. He further stated that the company will gradually market its products in other parts of the country as well.
