KATHMANDU, Sept 4: International Development Bank has entered into 2nd year of operation from Saturday.



The bank that aims to set up 50 branch offices within the period of five years at present operates with a network of 10 branches across the country. Issuing a press statement, the bank said it will open seven new branches within this fiscal year. [break]



Within a year of its operation, the bank was able to mobilize a deposit of Rs 2.79 billion and earn operating profit of Rs 5.65 million, according to the statement.





Janata Bank´s new saving scheme



KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Janata Bank Limited has introduced ´Smart Ladies Saving´ -- a new saving account for women.



The accountholders can get seven percent interest on the daily balance and will have to maintain the minimum balance of Rs 100 only, the bank said in a statement. “The customers of this account will also receive various gifts as well as the subscription of Nari magazine for six months,” the statement added.



The accountholders also enjoy free any branch banking service, checkbook, ATM card, internet banking, mobile banking and good for payment service, among others.
