Addressing the function, Jha said that such felicitation would motivate the bureaucrats, who serve the nation as permanent government, to better serve the people and thereby, contribute in nation building.
Baskota, referring to the present political instability and other difficulties, said that bureaucrats presently have no option but to apply themselves more efficiently and satisfy the service seekers.

United Finance´s new branch
KATHMANDU, May 14: United Finance Limited has established three branches this month. With new branches at New Road, Pokhara and Narayanghat, the finance company now has a network of six branches.
The company with its headquarters in Durbar Marg has paid-up capital of Rs 185 million and authorized capital of Rs 1 billion. As of mid-April, the company collected Rs 1.83 billion in deposits, which is a rise of 46 percent from what was collected till mid-July 2009.
It also invested Rs 2.10 billion on loans over the period, a rise of 28 percent from figures recorded till mid-July.
Global honor for LG
KATHMANDU, May 14: LG Electronics has become the first Asian company to be honored with the ISM R Gene Richter Award for Leadership and Innovation in Supply Management. This is also the first time the award has been given away to only one winner since the award was first established in 2006.
The Institute for Supply Management (ISM), the largest supply management institute in the world, has been honoring excellence in innovative supply management. The award recognizes organizations for best practice in the categories of people, process, technology, sustainability, and organization/structure category.
“To be recognized by ISM is a great honor for both LG and the team members who worked tirelessly to turn LG into a benchmark in the industry,” said Thomas K Linton, executive vice president and chief procurement officer of LG Electronics, said in a statement on Friday.
“This award is testament that the efforts of procurement departments are without question a strategic contributor to an organization´s business success, most notably during times of economic downturns,” the statement added.
