SAPTARI: One person, trapped inside a passenger bus, was burnt to death when cadres of Madhes Rastriya Janatantrik Party (MRJP) torched the ill-fated bus in Saptari district on Tuesday. A group of some 12 armed cadres set the bus on fire at Birendra Bazaar along the East-West Highway. They even did not let the passengers get down the vehicle. The passengers had to break open the bus door to get outside. But, one of the passengers remained stuck, said police at the Saptari District Police Office. The MRJP called a two-day general strike in Saptari and Siraha districts starting today, protesting against its cadre Ram Narayan Yadav’s death during police action last week.
