Nepal Airlines aircraft meets with accident while landing at Nepalgunj airport, all on board safe

KATHMANDU, March 28: An aircraft of Nepal Airlines met with an accident while landing at Nepalgunj airport on Saturday.

The incident took place after the aircraft missed the runway at the airport and crash landed onto nearby grassland, according to witnesses. 

According to Deputy Manager at the airport Santosh Adhikari, the aircraft had flown to Nepalgunj to collect swab samples of COVID-19 suspects in Banke district. “Of the five members on board the aircraft, two were medical staffs, while three were crew members,”Adhikari said. The Nepalgunj-bound flight from Kathmandu met with the accident in course of landing. 

The aircraft was carrying medical supplies and it had no passengers, he said.
