Since assuming the post around three years ago, Professor Rauniyar has made headlines several times, every time for a wrong reason. He has been linked with corruption and irregularities. However, this is the most severe action against taken against him so far. CIAA's team was deployed from its central office in Tangal, Kathmandu, to keep an eye on Prof Rauniyar on the basis of a tip-off. "We had received information that he has been bargaining with a contractor for money. A complaint was also filed against him. And we indeed caught them red handed after they took the money," said CIAA Spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala. "They were caught by the team deployed from the center. They will be brought to Kathmandu," he added.
