KATHMANDU, April 3: The Ministry of Health and Population has made arrangements to provide booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines three months after the completion of the first vaccination.

The family welfare division of the ministry has written to all the province health directorates and all 77 district health offices asking them to give booster doses within three months of completing the first series of vaccinations.

Earlier, the government's policy was to give a booster dose, only after six months of the first series of COVID-19 vaccines.

The letter sent by the Division said, "Based on the recommendation of the National Vaccine Advisory Committee on March 27, 2022, the Government of Nepal, as per the decision of the Ministry of Health and Population, requests you to make arrangements for one booster vaccine three months after the completion of the first series."
