Book on tea’s history launched in Nepal

Dutch linguist George van Driem launched his book, ‘The Tale of Tea: A Comprehensive History of Tea from Prehistoric Times to the Present Day’ at YalaMaya Kendra, Patan Dhoka on Friday.


Brill Publishers published the book on January 14.

At the book’s launch, Driem briefly presented the history of tea and Nepal’s place in it. A panel discussion was also held later, where Driem asked attendees to help for his next book.


George van Driem heads the Linguistics Institute at the University of Bern. He’s also an author of Brill Publisherspublished book, ‘Languages of the Himalayas’.
