Novice author Durga Karki has launched her first book ‘Kumari Prasanaharu’ at ‘R’ Sala, Kalikasthan on Friday. The United Kingdom's Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt, journalist Amit Dhakal and author herself jointly launched the book.
Addressing the book launch program, Pollitt said she was excited by the increasing participation of women in Nepali literature. While reminiscent of British literary history, Pollitt also quoted references to women writers such as George Elite writing in men's names. Ambassador Pollitt expressed her views in Nepali.

Highlighting the writing style of the writer, Durga Karki at the event, Amit Dhakal said, “Durga's writing has a special style through which every theme raised by her have a new life. That newness is evident in her collection of stories.”
Speaking about the book, author Karki said, “Writing is for me to understand other’s feelings, that is why I got a chance to feel the feelings of various people while writing these stories.”
Published by Nepalaya, the book is available in Nepal’s various book stores and also in Amazon.com worldwide.
The book is priced Rs 425.
