KATHMANDU, Jan 8: A bird struck the Druk Air-773 plane of Bhutan at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this morning. The bird struck with the aircraft during the take-off at the TIA for New Delhi, the capital of India.

According to airport sources, the bird hit the plane at 8:40 AM today.

Despite the bird collision, the plane safely took off for Delhi.

Director of TIA Office, Subhash Jha, has confirmed the incident. “A small bird crashed as soon as the plane took off. There was no damage to the aircraft. The plane has landed in Delhi safely," he said .

Even before this, birds have hit aircraft at the TIA many times. Due to the lack of cleanliness around the airport, such incidents have also happened in the past.
