KATHMANDU, May 25: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal administered oath of office and secrecy to UML leaders Bidya Devi Bhandari and Surendra Pandey as minister for defense and minister for finance respectively in his cabinet.

Bhandari and Pandey took the oath from Nepal in presence of President Dr ram Baran Yadav at the President’s Office. They were picked for initial berth in the cabinet after other parties in the alliance did not provide names.
Bhandari is Vice-Chairperson of the CPN-UML and widow of late Madan Bhandari while Pandey is the party´s politburo member. Bhandari is close to Nepal and Pandey is close to party Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal.
