Bhotekoshi River was blocked by the landslide that occurred at a place between the Chinese Khasa market and Nelam nearby Tatopani checkpoint. Due to the heavy rains, the water level did not recede in the swollen Bhotekoshi River. Floods after the burst of an artificial lake formed following the landslide in Khasa area wreaked havoc. Many houses in Liping, Kodari, Tatopani were submerged in the flood. The flood destroyed many infrastructures including roads, bridges and hydro projects.
