The municipality has made attempts to construct dumping site some 500 metres ahead of Aanptari of Jaldevi community forest of Bharatpur municipality-11 for the sustainable and effective management of garbage.
The municipality has accomplished environmental feasibility and prepared an outline of the dumping site and it was endorsed by Ministry of Local Development, informed Municipality Environment Division In-charge Birat Ghimire.
Local people have been protesting the proposal saying that garbage should not be dumped in the area of the community forest under the Devghat Area Development Committee. However, the Development Committee has endorsed the proposal put forth by the municipality.
