POKHARA, July 19: Gandaki Province has demanded that the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road section that connects Nepal with China should be under its purview.
The Gandaki Province has prioritized it as the pride project of the Province.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the delay in the road construction, a meeting of the Council of Ministers today demanded that the central government should handover this project to the provincial government.
“The construction work of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala is at a snail’s pace and its construction work does not meet the set standards. The central government can handover its responsibilities to the provincial government if it cannot look after it,” said Ram Sharan Basnet, spokesperson of the provincial government.
Similarly, the meeting also decided to ask the central government to bring Dumkibas-Tribeni-Susta road into operation.
