Beko, LG introduce new models of AC

KATHMANDU, May 30: With sales of air conditioner (AC) picking up in the market, dealers of Beko and LG -- two major players in the market -- have introduced new models of ACs hoping to boost their business by providing more choices for the customers.



Orbit International, the authorized distributor of Beko in Nepal launched 0.75ton BJA090, a new model of wall-mount AC. The model is priced at Rs 45,625, said Bashanta Bhattarai, manager of Orbit International. It has also introduced 2 ton BJA240, setting a price tag of Rs 84,375.[break]



Likewise, CG Impex that deals with LG products has introduced split type hot and cool ACs of models ESH0964SA4, ESH1264SA3 and ESH2465SA1.



ESH0964SA4 that weighs 0.75 ton is priced at Rs 58,790. While ESH1264SA3 of 1 ton is available for Rs 63,890 and ESH2465SA1 of 2 tons is priced at Rs 91,990.

“All these LG models are equipped with auto changeover function, sleep mode, auto clean, high energy efficiency ratio, hot start, self diagnosis, restart delay which helps in air purification system, energy saving feature and minimum noise,” Purushottam Bhandari, Chief of Sales of CG Impex.



Both the company officials said the new models have added strength to their product line and expressed the hope that they will do well as demand for ACs has grown encouragingly this year.



Beko, one of the leading players in the Nepali AC market, has been selling wall mount ACs of capacity ranging from 0.75 ton to 2 tons and ceiling cassette ACs with capacity ranging from 3 to 4 tons.



While wall mount ACs of different models are priced in a range of Rs 45,625 to Rs 84,375, ceiling cassette and mono split series are priced between Rs 137,500 to Rs 206,250.



The company also has inverter type wall-mount ACs with capacity of 0.75 ton to 1.5 tons. They are priced at Rs 68,750 to 104,375.



Likewise, CG Impex was so far dealing with split series ACs of capacity ranging from 0.75 ton to 2 tons. Their prices range from Rs 58,790 to Rs 91,990. Among others, LG also offers inverter type ACs with capacity of up to 2 tons at prices up to Rs 85,000.



According to Bhandari, ACs of 1.5 tons are appropriate for home use, while ones with higher capacity are appropriate for office use. He said his firm’s business of AC has risen by as much as 22 percent this season.



Orbit International too said that it has already sold as many as 1,500 units of ACs as of May, where as its sales last year had totaled around 1,000 units.
