KATHMANDU, May 17: Bauddha Football Club and Mega Three Star Club registered their second victories in the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League Football Tournament at the Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday.

Bauddha beat Saraswoti Club 2-1 to climb up to eighth position from tenth after the completion of fourth round, while Three Star defeated Swayambhu 2-0 in climb up one spot to seventh. Saraswoti and Swayambhu remained constant in the 15th and 13th positions, respectively.[break]

Buddha Chemjong and Anil Ojha scored in either half to seal victory for Three Star. Striker Chemjong scored a superb goal on the far post from the box line to stun Swayambhu´s Nigerian custodian Emmanul in the 24th minute.

Ojha also scored a beautiful goal after his one-to-one pass with Rajkumar Ghising to double the advantage in the 66th minute.

. "A win was vital today and we achieved it," said Three Star coach Meghraj KC whose side had finished second in the previous league. Three Star had defeated Koilapani Polestar in its first outing. KC also pointed out the need to improve his side´s playing style. "Three Star plays according to the opponent´s tune and we need to improve it."

Three Star dominated the match in terms of ball possession and created a couple of attractive moves, while Swayambhu failed to make even a single attempt. In the 88th minute, Chemjong was denied by goalie Emmanul in a one-on-one position. In the 43rd minute, Ghising´s strike from the left flank went wide despite beating two opponent defenders.

Despite the loss, Swayambhu coach Raju Kumar Lama was satisfied with his side´s performance. "The boys put up a good show against an opponent like Three Star," said Lama who, however, lamented the lack of good strikers in his side.

Earlier, in the day´s first encounter between two newcomers, Eugene Gary put Bauddha ahead in the 18th minute and Khum Gurung netted another four minutes after the interval. Sajan Bohora pulled one back five minutes from time for Saraswoti.

Gary made a quick strike from the box in a pass from Hem Tamang to send the ball past the net. Gurung collected glovesman Bikesh Kuthu´s rebounder off Uttam Gurung´s shot and hit a powerful shot from the left flank which entered the net hitting the bar.

Bohara hit the only goal for Saraswoti taking advantage of a mistake by Bauddha goalie Binod Dangol. Dangol had failed to collect the ball on Bohara´s first attempt.

Bauddha could have scored in the 21st minute had Khum Gurung not hit wide in an open post after receiving an acute cross from Gray as the goalie was already beaten. Gurung also twice failed to score in one-on-one positions with the goalie in the second half.

Bauddha coach Kiran Shrestha said they conceded the goal because of the carelessness of his players during the dying moments. "The boys became careless so we conceded the second goal," Shrestha said adding, "The team´s performance is improving day by day."

Shrestha´s counterpart Ashok KC said that his side failed to achieve the target of at least making a draw. He attributed the defeat to lack of coordination among his midfielders.
