KATHMANDU, March 2: Bansbari Football Club defeated Madhyapur Youth Association 5-2 to complete its third win in the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial B-Division League in Kathmandu on Sunday.


Bansbari controlled the match in the first half, taking a lead of 4-1. Bansbari added one more goal in the second half to secure a commanding win in a match played at the All Nepal Football Association’s complex in Satdobato.

Suleiman Thapa and Sajin Thapa scored two goals each. Suresh Kumal further added a goal for Bansbari. Likewise, Dheeraj Shrestha and Sunny Lama scored a goal each for losing team.


With the win, Bansbari has collected nine points after three matches and has jumped to top of the group table. Earlier, Bansbari had defeated Shree Bhagwati Club and Boys Union Club in the league. Madhyapur has succumbed to its third straight loss suffering the same feat against Khumaltar Youth and Shree Bhagwati Club earlier in the league.


Pulchowk Sports Club will face Boys Union Club on Monday.
