Bangladeshi held with fake currency

KATHMANDU, July 9: Police on Thursday arrested a Bangladeshi national for allegedly possessing fake IRs 2,900,000.



Mohamed Rafik (Passport No. B1633009), who had arrived in Nepal from the UAE through an Etihad Airways flight, was arrested in Kalimati by a special team of the Crime Investigation Department. Police said he was arrested near Grand Hotel with the fake bank notes.



Police also arrested an Indian national Arun Kumar Gupta, 30, and Raja Maharjan, 32 of Kirtipur Municipality-2, for their alleged involvement with Rafik.
