KATHMANDU: A recent executive committee meeting of New Road Team (NRT) has elected Deepak Harsha Bajracharya as the club´s acting president after the club´s council of patrons accepted the resignation of club president Narendra Shrestha.

Bajracharya was the first vice-president of the club. He is also the president of Nepal Judo Association.

"We have elected Bajracharya as acting president," informed NRT General Secretary Binay Singh Pradhan. Shrestha had resigned on moral grounds about four months ago immediately after the general assembly of the club decided not to play competitive football for a year. [break]

The club had decided to pull out of football citing huge loans and saying it would not be able to pay off the loans by playing in expensive football leagues.
