Bagmati Provincial Assembly meeting at 1 PM today

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The ninth session of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly is being held today. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1 PM.

According to Krishna Hari Khadka, secretary at the Provincial Assembly, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee is scheduled to be held at 11:30 AM before the meeting of the Provincial Assembly.

Speaker Sanukumar Shrestha has summoned a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee to hold necessary discussions on the functioning of the provincial parliament. It is stated that the agenda of the provincial assembly meeting will be decided by the same meeting. Chief Minister Rajendra Prasad Pandey has not convened a meeting of the provincial assembly after winning a vote of confidence.

There are 43 members of parliament from the main opposition party CPN-UML, 23 from CPN (Maoist Center), 22 from Nepali Congress, 13 from CPN (Unified Socialist), one from Janata Samajbadi Party, two from Nepal Workers Peasants Party, two from Rastriya Prajatantra Party and three from Bibeksheel Sajha Party. There are a total of 109 MPs in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly.
