Bagmati CM Lama secures vote of confidence

KATHMANDU, July 30: Bahadur Singh Lama, the newly appointed Chief Minister (CM) of Bagmati Province and leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party for the province, has secured a vote of confidence.

KATHMANDU, July 30: Bahadur Singh Lama, the newly appointed Chief Minister (CM) of Bagmati Province and leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party for the province, has secured a vote of confidence. 


Lama received 64 votes in his favor, with support from the CPN-UML and NC lawmakers. Meanwhile, 35 lawmakers opposed, including members from the CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Rastriya Prajatantra Party.

The Nepal Workers and Peasants Party remained neutral, and two lawmakers from the Hamro Nepali Party were absent. Lama, who required 56 votes, replaces Shalikram Jamkattel as  the CM after his recent resignation
