Madhesh CM Yadav wins vote of confidence

JANAKPURDHAM, Jan 19: Chief minister (CM) of Madhesh Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav has secured the vote of confidence from the provincial assembly. He received a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly meeting held today. He has been given a vote of confidence by the members of all parties represented in the province assembly.

JANAKPURDHAM, Jan 19: Chief minister (CM) of Madhesh Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav has secured the vote of confidence from the provincial assembly. He received a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly meeting held today. He has been given a vote of confidence by the members of all parties represented in the province assembly.


In the provincial assembly, lawmakers belonging to 10 political parties including independent lawmakers gave a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Yadav. The 102 lawmakers present in the provincial assembly meeting on Wednesday included 23 lawmakers of UML, 22 lawmakers of NC, 16 lawmakers of JSP, 13 lawmakers of Janmat Party, nine9 lawmakers of LSP, seven lawmakers of CPN (Maoist Center), seven lawmakers of CPN (Unified Socialist Party), 1 lawmaker each of Nagarik Unmukti Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and Nepal Sanghiya Samajwadi Party.

Chief Minister Yadav received the votes of five independent lawmakers as well.


Yadav was appointed the chief minister on January 11 with the support of 63 members of the provincial assembly. All 10 parties, including the Nepali Congress, the second largest party in the provincial assembly, gave a vote of confidence to Yadav, who is also the parliamentary party leader of JSP.
