Badri Lal defeated Bibek Thing in the semifinals to advance into the final, while Madan Krishna overcame FIDE Master Manish Hamal 2-0 in the Blitza match to set title clash against arch-rival Badri Lal.
Looking at the past records, Badri Lal has an upper hand against Madan Krishna as with three wins, three draws and a defeat in the last seven encounters.
The winner will be awarded with awarded with a motorbike while the runner up will receive Rs 50,000. The two semifinalists -- Bibek and Manish will receive Rs 30,000 each.
Meanwhile, eighth and ninth rounds of the tournament ended on Tuesday as Bhupendra Niraula and Krishna Thapa shared lead with seven points.
Rupesh Jaiswal, Punya Man Karmacharya and Nabin Tandukar have achieved total 6.5 points at the end of the round nine. Keshab Shrestha, Himal Lama, Rijendra Bhandari, Rabindra Bahadur Thapa and Rabindra Shakya have six points each.
Likewise, Milan Lama, Prakash Nepal, Purna Raj Khadka, Sajin Maharjan, Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, Balram Sanjel, Madan Bir Dangol, Madan Rayamajhi, Chhitij Bhandari and Subash Bhandari have 5.5 points each.
