KATHMANDU, Feb 11: CPN- UML secretary, Prithivi Subba Gurung was elected as Parliamentary Party leader of Province 4 unopposed today.
The party’s parliamentary meeting had of UML nominated Subba while Kiran Gurung had also filed his nominations for the position, which he later withdrew. Subba was backed by the party’s general secretary Ishwor Pokherel and later by Gurung himself.
Gurung had won the provincial assembly election from Lamjung ‘B’.
Of the 59 PA members in Province 4, 27 are from UML, 15 from NC, 12 from Maoist Center, 3 from Janamorcha and 2 from Naya Shakti.
Left alliance has a clear majority to form a government in province-4. In this regard, Gurung is likely to be a CM of Province-4.
