The former footballer Manandhar defeated Anil Gurung, a Laxmi Hundai Manang Marshyangdhi Club striker, with a margin of four votes in the election held at the ANFA head office in Satdobato, Lalitpur.
KATHMANDU, March 19: Shashi Kala Dahal, 60, of the CPN (Maoist Center) was elected the vice-chairperson of the National Assembly (NA), defeating Brinda Devi Ale of the Nepali Congress (NC) in an election held on Sunday.
MORANG, Feb 20 : Rajib Koirala has been unanimously elected Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader of Province 1. A meeting of the province NC parliamentary party held on Monday in Biratnagar took a decision to this effect.
KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Sherdhan Rai, Provincial Assembly leader of CPN-UML defeated Bhim Acharya by two votes to secure his win as Parliamentary Party member from Province 1. Rai obtained 26 votes and his rival candidate Acharya garnered 24 votes.
