Legal education in Nepal is gaining popularity in situations where there is decreasing enrollment in other subjects. This is a positive sign as it indicates the potential for improvement in the justice sector with the influx of good human resources in the future. However, the shortage of teachers in colleges outside the valley is currently a major challenge.

Nepal, despite contributing a small share of global greenhouse gas emissions, recognizes the risks of climate change. Our mountains are a vital source of revenue and water for South Asia. We must take the lead in climate diplomacy by cooperating with our neighbors.

Reform in reservation is necessary

On January 18, 2024, six National Commissions (Women, Dalit, Madhesi, Muslim, Indigenous Tribes, and Tharu) held a press conference to discuss the report of the National Inclusion Commission. They pointed out that despite the commission's study report, published a year ago stating that reservations would not be needed after 14 years, there is still a strong need for such commissions.
