Authentic south Indian treats at Hyatt Hotel Regency Kathmandu

‘The Café’, an all-day dining restaurant at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu will partake in a ten-day-long food promotion from May 03 – May 12. The program aims at serving diners with the taste of five South Indian states, namely Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. According to the press statement issued by Hyatt Hotel Regency Kathmandu on Thursday, Chef Arun Prasad explored these South Indian states during a month-long vacation. He has personally handpicked the ingredients to give diners the authentic flavors within the confines of The Cafe.

The event features some signature dishes including dhanedar shunti, hand-pounded spiced lamb meat balls, chappa pulusu, fish cooked in the Andhra style, thalappa kattu chicken biryani, traditional tamil nadu style chicken, chemeen polichathu, slow-cooked prawns in a tangy and spicy coconut sauce wrapped in banana leaf (signature dish of Kerala), chinna urali vendhiya keerai peratal, baby potatoes tossed with fenugreek, onion, tomato and curry leaves, malabar paratha, Kerala-style layered Indian flour bread and elaneer paysam (a tender coconut pudding) to name a few.
