The ceremony also saw the launch of the catalogue published on the occasion of 3rd National Fine Arts Exhibition 2070. The book and catalogue were launched by Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister, Ram Kumar Shrestha.
Addressing the audience, Niraula shared, “Nepal is rich in art. However, there’s so much to improve. In my book, that’s what I’ve tried to put in and I expect that my readers, specifically emerging artists, will be aware about making the necessary improvements.”
Kiran Manandhar, the chancellor of the academy handed over a cheque of Rs 142,455 to Nepal Red Cross Society’s Secretary General Dev Ratna Dhakhwa as a relief for the flood and landslide victims of the country. The amount was collected during ‘Miteri Kala Yatra’, an art event held in Dhampus, Pokhara under the supervision of Manandhar.
The academy also granted Creative Art Scholarships to 12 students during the event. The scholarships were handed to the students by Manandhar and Council Member Rabin Kumar Koirala.
Painting a perspective
