KATHMANDU March 14: The cabinet has directed the Ministry of Education (MoE) to arrange SLC examinations for acid attack victims-- Sangita Magar and Sima Basnet--at the hospitals where they are currently undergoing treatment.

A cabinet meeting held on Friday took a decision in this regard. Magar and Basnet are undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Model College (KMC) Teaching Hospital and Bir Hospital respectively following acid attack by an unidentified man at Basantapur-based A Plus tuition center on Feb 23.

Emerging from the cabinet meeting Minister for Law and Justice Narahari Acharaya informed that the Ministry of Home Affairs has been directed to book the culprits involved in the acid attack incident at the earliest. "The government is committed to taking stringent action against the acid attackers and providing relief and justice to the victims," Acharya said.

The meeting approved President Dr Rambaran Yadav's official visit to China to attend the Boao Forum of Asia Annual Conference 2015 scheduled for March 25 to 27.

The meeting also decided to instruct Bara District Administration Office to arrange relief package to family members of a six-year-old rape victim Puja Shah who died five days ago while undergoing treatment at Kanti Children's Hospital in the capital.
