Army’s Rai, Budha win Open Road Race titles

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club’s Gajendra Rai and Bishwarupa Budha have won the men’s and women’s titles, respectively, of the fifth Open Road Race on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club’s Gajendra Rai and Bishwarupa Budha have won the men’s and women’s titles, respectively, of the fifth Open Road Race on Saturday.


Rai won the men’s title by completing the five km race in 15:27:25 minutes. Likewise, Army’s Hari Kumar Rimal became second and Tika Raj Katuwal stood third. Rimal completed the race in 15:35:00 minutes, while Katuwal completed in 15:35:50 minutes.

In women’s category, Budha completed the race of five km in 18:01:66 minutes, while second-placed Dhangadhi’s Santoshi Shretsha completed the length in 18:20:29 minutes.


The other departmental team Nepal Police Club’s Rajpura Pachhai stood third completing in 18:32:20 minutes.


Both the winners were rewarded with Rs 25,000 each, while the runner-ups and the third-placed runners bagged cash prizes of Rs 15,000 each and Rs 10,000 each, respectively.
