In Kathmandu, Fulpati is brought to the capital in accordance with Vedic rituals and taken to the Dashain Ghar at Hanuman Dhoka Durbar. A procession accompanied by cultural performances travels from Hanuman Dhoka to Jamal with the Fulpati.

Although Dashain begins with Ghatasthapana, celebrations gain momentum from Fulpati.

Government and private offices generally begin closing from today, allowing people to return to their ancestral homes to receive blessings from Goddess Durga and their elders.
