Army opens fire at poachers in Bardiya

GULARIYA (Bardiya), Aug 25: Nepal Army personnel exchanged fire with poachers at Bardiya National Park (BNP) on Wednesday night.

GULARIYA (Bardiya), Aug 25: Nepal Army personnel exchanged fire with poachers at Bardiya National Park (BNP) on Wednesday night.


The army deployed to guard the BNP had to respond to the poachers numbered around six in retaliation, an army man said.

Following a brief exchange of fire, the poachers fled leaving behind two loading guns and 45 kilograms of dried meat of different wild animals, which were confiscated and handed over the BNP later, the army man said.


The BNP said that the search for the poachers was ongoing. RSS
