KATHMANDU, April 5: Minister of State for Home Affairs Indra Bahadur Baniya said that the government has approved and dispatched a special security plan to the local bodies to make the May 14 local polls a success.
The security personnel will be deployed in the polling centers within a week, said State Minister Baniya.
In an interaction organized by Reporters Club Nepal in the Capital today, State Minister Baniya said, “Armies will be deployed in the election constituencies while their roles will be decided by the government.”

“It is necessary to mobilize armies. We will mobilize them to hold the upcoming local polls in a free, fair and peaceful manner.”
Minister Baniya is hopeful that the Madhesi parties will take part in the elections saying that elections fever has already gripped the Tarai region.
Baniya further said that the local polls will be held at one go.
He further revealed that the government is making internal preparations to bring the agitating Madhesi parties on board the local polls porcess. The government is planning to sort out the burning issue of delineating provinces through the formation of a high level commission.
On a different note, Baniya said that the appointment for the post of Inspector General of the Nepal Police will be made in line with the verdict of the Supreme Court.
