KATHMANDU, March 4: An application has been filed at the Supreme Court against the Supreme Court administration for its denial to register a writ petition demanding that Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi be relieved of his responsibility. Advocate Sunil Ranjan Singh filed the application on Sunday, arguing that the refusal of the SC administration is against the Supreme Court Regulation, 2049. The applicant has demanded that his petition be registered.

The SC administration on Thursday had refused to register the writ petition stating that it is not necessary to register the same type of writ petition time and again as the issue is already sub-judice at the apex court.

Singh on Tuesday had tabled the writ petition at the SC administration arguing that the CJ cannot deliver justice independently as the latter has already publicly accepted the proposal to lead an election government.

The petitioner has stated that the CJ´s move is not only against the principle of separation of power but also against the preamble of the Interim Constitution, article 100 (2) and 106 (1).
