APF to expand base camps

SUNSARI, June 15: Armed Police Force (APF)’s base camps have been expanded in the Eastern region for the effective implementation of special security plan introduced by the government.



Base camp of Armed Police has been extended in 16 districts of the Eastern region, informed APF Eastern Headquarters Pakali, Sunsari.[break]



According to the headquarters, a battalion has been set up in each eastern mountainous district, including Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur, Terhathum, Udayapur, Khotang and Dhankuta under the leadership of APF Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).



Likewise, some 17 ‘border out posts’ have been established in Terai districts, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari and Siraha for the effective implementation of special security plan.



It will be easier to check criminal activities with the expansion of Armed Police camps and addition of more than 40 per cent human resource, said APF Regional Headquarters.
