NPC wants to avenge its defeat suffered at the hands of APF when the two sides last met during the 12th edition of the national championship. [break]APF had inflicted an 1-0 defeat on NPC on the occasion last year. APF then went on to win the title of the 13th edition during the Sixth National Games defeating PLA Sports Club 2-0.
Ahead of Saturday´s final, APF coach Milan Rai said that the team is fully prepared for the final. “We have won every game by good margin and the players are also in good form.”
APF had defeated Dhanusha 18-0, Jhapa 12-0 and Kailali 4-0 on its way to the final while NPC also had an impressive run to the final as it defeated Dhankuta 14-0, host Bara 5-0 and Army 1-0.
NPC coach Sandesh Shrestha said that his team wants to win the final and secure first title in two years. “We are fully prepared for the final but we haven´t got enough rest as we played the semifinal just on Thursday. APF has got an extra day´s rest which has helped it recover properly,” said Shrestha.
APF coach Rai added that NPC have good players and they can perform well at Simara ground as NPC had played three matches there. “We do not have ground experience at Simara but we will give our best to win the match.”
NPC coach Shrestha informed that his key players Chandra Bhandari and Niru Thapa will create problem for APF defense. “I expect these two players to give their best as APF has national players in the squad,” said Shrestha, adding “Our players can defend the attacks of APF as our defense line is strong.”
APF coach Rai said that both teams have chances of winning the title. “We want to play our game and create history in women´s football.”
