KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Two rivals of Nepali volleyball Armed Police Force (APF) and New Diamond Academy are jointly on top of the standings of the 12th Blue Sky Cup TVS Dhorpatan Women's Double League Volleyball Tournament.
After beating Western Region Volleyball Association 3-1 on Tuesday, APF climbed leveled on points with New Diamond. In the fourth day of the tournament played at New Buspark, APF had lost the first set 22-25. However, it bounced back in the game winning the remaining three sets 25-12, 25-7, 25-15. After playing four matches, both APF and New Diamond have collected 12 points to remain jointly in the first position.
In the meantime, Western Region won its another match played on the same day as it overcame Bijeshwari Gyan Mandir 25-11, 25-3, 25-8. Western Region has now three points from two matches.
Similarly in the another match, Tribhuvan Army Club defeated New Diamond Sports Club 25-22, 25-17, 25-12. After the win, Army has now nine points from four matches. New Diamond Sports Club, a junior team of New Diamond Academy, suffered second defeat of the day as it was beaten by Dhorpatan Sports Club in a late match. The host registered a 25-15, 25-9, 25-19 win over New Diamond Sports Club and extended its points tally to five from four matches.
