KATHMANDU, March 25: Two factions of Maoist-affiliated All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF) have stood against the understanding reached between the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and three major trade unions in the country.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, a faction of ANTUF led by Laldhoj Nembang and All Nepal National Revolutionary Trade Union Federation (ANRTUF) said they were against the understanding reached on Wednesday as it is against the interest of the workers.[break]

“The agreement favors the industrialists,” the statement said.

They have also requested the industrialists to annul the agreement and fulfill the demands put forth by the workers.

A faction of ANTUF led by Shalikram Jammakattel together with Nepal Trade Union Congress and General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions had on Wednesday signed the agreement to raise minimum monthly salary of workers to Rs 6,100.
