KC moved the SC a day after the court ordered the DRI not to proceed with the investigation into suspected tax evasion by the law firm of senior advocate Shambhu Thapa. The SC had also ordered the DRI officials to be present before the court on Tuesday along with all the documents seized from the law firm.
The court will deliberate on whether to issue an order as demanded by the writ petitioner after studying the documents. The DRI on Friday had raided five firms including Janachetana Law Firm run by KC, on the suspicion of tax evasion.
