Annual art exhibition by Alfresco on display

A total of 28 artists’ group exhibition ‘Alfresco Art Exhibition 2021’ began on October 2  at Nepal Art Council, Babermahal.

8th edition of Alfresco Open Art Exhibition kicked off


The exhibition is organized by Alfresco Media and Event Management Pvt Ltd and it’s the 10th edition. It features a total of 56 paintings which includes contemporary Paubha, Paubha, modern/traditional and more forms of artworks. 


The annual art exhibition aims to be an open platform for artists and showcases works of young artists to senior artists. Moreover, the main theme of the exhibition is to promote young artists and create a market for them, which would also bridge the gap between generations and to uplift internal and external tourism of the nation by promoting Nepali art, culture and heritage through the means of painting.


The event was inaugurated by Kishore Maharjan, chairman of Star Hospital, where he mentioned that artists must be self-sustainable and he added, “Until and unless the artists aren’t able to sustain themselves, there would be very less opportunity to bring changes in the sector of art.”


Moreover, President of Alfresco Media and Event Management Pvt Ltd, Shyam K Shrestha shared his vision to create an ecosystem to support artists by selling their artworks. He said he would continue the work along with establishing an art village to support his vision. 


Paintings on display at the exhibition cost from Rs 10,000 to Rs 350,000. The exhibition will continue till October 10.
